Solution for the SB closure error-"The account closure can proceed only if the balance is zero" in DOP Finacle

  • Generally we will use the menu HCAAC for closure of SB accounts in DOP Finacle.
  • HCAAC stands for A/c closure Transaction A/cs
  • But in some cases when we try to close the SB account we will generally face the error- "The account closure can proceed only if the balance is zero" in DOP Finacle.

The error screen shot will be as shown in the below figure
  • From the above screen shot it is clear that the system is showing the above error hence the account is not able to close in the system

Root cause of the above problem :-

  • The above problem will occur when the counter PA closed the account then sometimes a system generated tran id will be generated with 'S' which will be in entered state which can be traced by using the menu HFTI.
  • Invoke the menu HFTI and enter the account number and click on Go then the system will give the system generated tran id.
  • For example in our case for the SB account number find the below screen shots to trace the tran id

  • From the screen shot the tran id generated by the system is S6239593 as shown in the above screen shot.
  • After tracing the tran id follow the below procedure

Solution for the above problem :-

  • In the first step in the counter PA login use the menu HTM select the function as modify and post the tran id S6239593 .
  • In the next step verify the SB closure in the supervisor login using the SB closure menu HCAAC.
  • In order to view the total amount payable to the customer check in HACLI you will get both principle amount and CYI interest amount.

Procedure to inquire paid transactions for MIS/SCSS/TD accounts in DOP Finacle

  • For all the accounts of SBA scheme i..e, SB/PPF/SSA accounts we will inquire the ledger details and ledger balance using the menu HACLI(Account Ledger Inquiry).
  • But for TDA accounts i..e., MIS,SCSS and TD accounts we can't trace the total installments paid to the customer using the menu HACLI as these accounts interests will be credited in respective Sundry accounts ( Unposted Office Account).
  • For MIS,SCSS and TD accounts interests of the customers will be credited in respective sundry accounts i..e,
For MIS accounts Sundry account is SOLID+0337.
For SCSS accounts Sundry account is SOLID+0338.
For TD accounts Sundry account is SOLID+0335.
Generally in DOP Finacle we will reverse the amount i..e, customer interest from the Sundry account by giving the reference number (customer account number) which is called pointing account hence Sundry accounts comes under OAP(Office Account Pointing).

Procedure to Inquire paid transactions for MIS/SCSS/TD accounts

1. Invoke the menu HFTI then the system will show the below screen as mentioned

In the above screen enter the following details as mentioned below

  1. Enter the account number as Sundry account number (i..e., SOLID+0335/0337/0338).
  2. Enter the Ref. No. column as " Customer account number " as mentioned in the below screen shot

Then in the above screen remove the start date column to view the total number of installments paid to the customer after migration to Finacle application as shown in the below screen

Then finally Click on Go then the system will show the list of transactions paid to the customer as mentioned in the below screen shot.
  • In the above screen one can observe transaction starting with 'S' are system generated i.e., interest generation date by the system( generally interest due date).
  • And the transactions starting with 'IN' are the entries which are paid to the customer.

How hackers hack Facebook Account & How to stop them? - POTools

How hackers hack Facebook Account ; How to stop them? - POTools

Facebook is, undoubtedly, the most popular social networking website with more than 500 million active users. Due to its popularity, many hackers (or should I say crackers?) are actively involved in hacking Facebook accounts of unsuspecting users. This article outlines the many strategies that such hackers use to gain access to Facebook accounts of hundreds of users each day and how you can stop them from hacking your account.

Facebook is one of the prime target of hackers!

Email Address Hack

I have always been puzzled by Facebook's leniency in this matter. All a hacker needs to do is know your name and he will be conveniently shown your email address at your profile. How easily a hacker can then hack your Facebook account (and everything else associated with that email id) if he 'guesses' your password (if you use a weak password) or answers your security question! This is something I hope Facebook improves on quickly. Until Facebook does so, here are some tricks you can use to protect yourself from this vulnerability.

How to safeguard your Email Address?

Just follow these steps:-

  • Hide your Email Address from everyone by going to Edit Profile>Contact Information>Clicking on the icon beside your email address> checking 'Only Me'.
  • Change your primary email address to a one that is only known to you by going to Account Settings>Email> and changing your primary email to the new one (known only to you) and removing your previous email address.
  • For additional security, when in Account Settings, check 'Secure browsing' and 'Send me an email when a new computer or mobile device logs into this account' and click Save.

A hacker at work!

Phishing

Phishing is one of the easiest ways to trick users into giving out their login credentials. All a hacker does is setup a webpage similar in design to that of the Facebook homepage, attach a server sided script to track the username and password entered and store it in a log. Sending people emails stating that someone tagged a photo of them on Facebook in the same format as Facebook and giving a link below to the phishing website further reduces the chances of it being detected as a fake. Sometimes, spam Facebook apps, like those promising to tell who viewed your Facebook profile, automatically post links to phishing websites. A new trend amongst phishers is creating Facebook look-a-like widgets for stealing user's login credentials.

How to prevent yourself from being phished?

At all costs, avoid clicking on suspicious links. Moreover, always check the URL in the address bar before signing in. Avoid logging in through various "Facebook widgets" offered by websites and blogs. Instead, use Facebook's homepage to sign in. Always try to use Safe Search while searching. If you do manage to get phished, report the website so that others may get a warning before visiting it.

Keylogging through Keyloggers

Keylogger is a type of computer virus that tracks key strokes. Keyloggers can be installed remotely on a computer system by a cracker to record all the activity that is going on the victim's computer. Keylogging gets more easy if the hacker has physical access to the victim's computer.

How to stop keyloggers?

Install a good antivirus and update it frequently. Do not click on suspicious links and avoid downloading illegal software. Also, avoid installing free toolbars and other such spam software. Always scan third-person's flash and pen drives before using them on your computer.

Social Engineering

Social engineering involves using any trick to fool the user into making himself vulnerable to exploits. This could involve anything from sending spoof emails, pretending to be from Facebook, telling you to change your password to 12345678 to a hacker maliciously getting out the answer to your security question in a friendly chat or discussion.

How to prevent yourself from being socially engineered?

Stay aware during chats and discussions. Use a tough security question, preferably one whose answer you would never disclose to anyone. Moreover, Facebook, or any other company for that matter, will never ask you to change your password to 12345678 or do something as silly as asking you to send out your login details to prove that you are an active user. Always think before taking actions and your e-life on Facebook will be safe from hackers looking to hack Facebook accounts.

Step by Step procedure of RD account closure having loan in DOP Finacle

When an RD account having loan approached for closure then there will be 2 cases they are mentioned below
  1. RD account having loan account approaches for before maturity period (Premature closure).
  2. RD account having loan approaches after maturity period (Mature closure).

Case 1:-

RD account closure having loan before maturity period (Premature Closure)
  1. If the customer approaches for RD account closure having loan before maturity period (Premature closure) then as per the POSB norms we will not collect the loan interest from the customer
  2. In Counter PA login invoke the account closure menu CRDCAAC and close the account.
  3. Then the system will auto calculates the Net amount i..e, it will deduct loan amount and net balance to be paid to the customer will displayed by the system.
  4. Supervisor has to verify the account closure using the menu CRDCAAC.

Case 2:-

RD account having loan approaches after maturity period (Mature closure).
  1. Counter PA has to invoke loan repayment using HLAUPAY menu.
  2. Supervisor has to verify the transaction done in HLAUPAY menu.
  3. Counter PA has to invoke the menu HPAYOFF to make the loan amount '0'(zero) and system will calculates the loan interest.
  4. Supervisor has to verify the transaction done in HPAYOFF.
  5. Counter PA has to invoke the menu CAACLA to close the loan account.
  6. Supervisor has to verify the transaction done in CAACLA. Now the loan account is closed we have to proceed for account closure in the next step.
  7. Counter PA has to invoke the menu CRDCAAC to close the account.
  8. Supervisor has to verify the transaction done in CRDCAAC. Then the system will calculates the net amount to be paid to the customer after deducting the loan amount and interest on loan amount.
  9. Note:- In Case 2 if the customer repaid total loan amount in Sanchay Post then the system will not generate the loan account number during migration. For loan interest system will mark LIEN hence we have to modify the LIEN amount to '0'(zero) and the same should be charged under RD loan interest then proceed for RD account closure.
